Race registration

All 5k and 10k runners must register at the registration desks. Here you we will be able to collect your race numbers.

Please go to the appropriate registration desk dealing with your start time. Race numbers will be filed numerically.

Race numbers should be pinned on the front of each runner to ensure your time can be recorded at the finish. Safety pins will be provided. Please allow sufficient time before the race starts to collect your number.

There is no chip timing.

Race start & finish

The race starts and finishes at Girton Recreation Ground.

After crossing the finish line, please stay in finish order in the funnel, and collect your drink and race memento.

The course

The 2k route uses Girton Recreation Ground.

The 5k and 10k routes use the Recreation Ground and bridleways around Girton. There is some crossing of roads, so due care is needed.

Maps of the race routes will be on display on the day and are also provided on the event website.

After crossing the finish line, please stay in finish order in the funnel, and collect your drink and race memento and return your timing chip.

Timing

The 5k and 10k runs will not have chip timing. While all effort will be made to record finish times, the organising group take no responsibility for faiulre to record times accurately. The run is staffed by volunteers.

Please wear your race number on the front of your T-shirt or vest to make it easier for your time to be noted.

Race results

Provisional results will be available on the event website www.cogwheel5kcanter.co.uk  from the day of the run.

Parking

Car parking is available at Girton Recreation Ground.

Toilets and baggage

There are toilets for male and female runners in Girton Recreation Ground Pavilion.

A designated manned area for the deposit of valuables and baggage will be available. All baggage and valuables are left at the owner’s risk.

The race organisers will not take any responsibility for any losses or damage incurred.

Medical support

A First Aid Service provider will be on hand at the race start area to assist. Please note you should seek medical advice from your local GP if you are in any doubt as to your health before competing in this event. The organisers will not be held responsible for any injury, accident, loss or damage that may arise before, during or after the event as a consequence of a competitor’s participation in the race.

Lost children

Any child that becomes separated from their parents will be taken to the information desk at the race start.

Refreshments

Hot and cold drinks and cakes will be available from 9.45am to 12.30pm in Girton Recreation Ground Pavilion.

Photographs

By signing up for the race you agree that pictures may be used on the Cogwheel Counselling website, social media channels and for public relations and marketing materials.

Information

Cogwheel Counselling values your support and promises to respect your privacy. The data we gather and hold is managed in accordance with GDPR regulations.

Event cancellation

If the event is cancelled due to weather conditions refunds will not be made but a 50% discount to entry will be provided to the 2024 Cogwheel 5k and 10k Canter runs.

Refunds

The registration fee is non-refundable, however, registration transfers can be made by contacting edds@edds.co.uk before Wednesday 27 December giving full details of yourself and the new runner details.

No switching is permitted between the race distances.

Health declaration

By registering for the event, all runners confirm that they are medically fit to run.
