REGISTRATIONS WILL OPEN 1st AUGUST
All 5k runners must register at the Registration desks in the race start zone at Jesus Green from 10am. Here you we will be able to collect your race numbers with embedded timing chips.
Please go to the appropriate registration desk dealing with your start time. Race numbers will be filed numerically.
Race numbers should be pinned on the front of each runner to ensure your time can be recorded at the finish. Safety pins will be provided. Please allow sufficient time before the race start to collect your number.
There is no chip timing for the Cogwheel 2k Canter

The race start will take place at Jesus Green 150m from Jesus Lock bridge.
All runners will be required at start ten minutes before the start of the race for example 10.50am for the Toddler mini sprint , 11.05 for 2k and 11.35am for 5k
The route is all off road with the start on Jesus Green 150m from the Jesus Lock bridge . Runners follow a route around public paths on Jesus Green, then follow the path along the River Cam passing under the Victoria Road bridge into Midsummer Common. The run loops around the Common before returning under the bridge back to Jesus Green and the finish.
A map of the race route will be on display at the race start and is also provided on the event website.
The race finish is at Jesus Green. After crossing the finish line please stay in finish order in the funnel, and collect your drink and race memento and return your timing chip.
The 5k race will have chip timing however even the best systems in the world and, while all effort will be made to record finish times, the organising group take no responsibility for failure to record times accurately. The run is staffed by volunteers.
Please wear you race number on the front of your t-shirt or vest to make easier for your time to be noted.
Presentation of prizes
This will take place at the finish as close as possible to 12.30pm as possible.
Provisional results will be available on the event website www.coghweel5kcanter.org.uk from the Tuesday evening of the run.
No car parking is permitted at Jesus Green itself but on street parking is available around the Chesterton Road area and in the Queen Anne public car park. There are also buses from the Milton Park & Ride site.
Toilets and baggage
There are toilets for male and female runners at Jesus Green.
A designated manned area for the deposit of valuables and baggage will be provided in a dedicated gazebo. All baggage and valuables are left at the owner’s risk.
The race organisers will not take any responsibility for any losses or damage incurred.
St John Ambulance Service will be on hand at the race start area to assist. Please note you should seek medical advice from your local GP if you are in any doubt as to your health before competing in this event. The organisers will not be held responsible for any injury, accident, loss or damage that may arise before, during or after the event as a consequence of a competitor’s participation in the race.
Any child that becomes separated from their parents will be taken to the information desk at the race start.
Hot and cold drinks will be available from 9.00am to 12.30am
By signing up for the race you agree that pictures may be used on The Cogwheel Trust CIO website, social media channels and for public relations and marketing materials.
The Cogwheel Trust CIO values your support and promises to respect your privacy. The data we gather and hold is managed in accordance with GDPR regulations.
If the event is cancelled due to weather conditions refunds will not be made but a 50% discount to entry will be provided to the 2020 Cogwheel 5k and 2k Canter runs.
The registration fee is non refundable, however registration transfers can be made by contacting firstname.lastname@example.org before Friday 27th December giving full details of yourself and the new runner details.
No switching is permitted between the 2k and 5k and vice versa.
